Though the word "worshipped" may sound a little exaggerative, it can be considered as the poetic replacement for "respected". A society in which a woman is not entitled to have her self respect, shall decay in the course of time. As stealing a woman of her self respect is like disrespecting the very essence of our existence : Motherhood. Our ancestors had attributed high regard and reverence for the role that a woman plays in the well being of society.
