ಪೂರ್ಣ ವಾಕ್ಯ: ಗುಣಃ, ವೃದ್ಧಿಃ (ಇತ್ಯೇತಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ನಿರ್ದಿಷ್ಟೌ) ಗುಣ-ವೃದ್ಧೀ ಇಕಃ

ಅರ್ಥ: ಯತ್ರ 'ಗುಣ'ಶಬ್ದೇನ ಗುಣಾದೇಶಃ ನಿರ್ದಿಶ್ಯತೇ ಉತ 'ವೃದ್ಧಿ'ಶಬ್ದೇನ ವೃದ್ಧ್ಯಾದೇಶಃ ನಿರ್ದಿಶ್ಯತೇ, ತತ್ರ ಸಃ ಆದೇಶಃ ಇಕ್-ವರ್ಣಸ್ಯ ಸ್ಥಾನೇ ಭವತಿ ।
Meaning: If the words गुण or वृद्धि are used to denote the operation of गुणादेश or वृद्धि-आदेश without specifying where such an आदेश happens, then this आदेश should be done in place of the 'इक्' letter.
