ಪೂರ್ಣ ವಾಕ್ಯ: ಉದಃ ಅಚಃ ಭಸ್ಯ ಈತ್

ಅರ್ಥ: ಉದ್-ಶಬ್ದಾತ್ ಪರಸ್ಯ ಲುಪ್ತನಕಾರಸ್ಯ ಅಞ್ಚ್-ಶಬ್ದಾನ್ತಸ್ಯ ಭಸಂಜ್ಞಕಸ್ಯ ಈಕಾರಾದೇಶಃ ಭವತಿ ।
Meaning: If the word अच् -
(1) happens to be derived from the धातु अञ्च् (गतौ) ,
(2) follows the word उद्, and
(3) gets the भसंज्ञा,
then the अकार of अच् is converted to ईकार.
