ಪೂರ್ಣ ವಾಕ್ಯ: ಅಕಃ ಇದಮಃ ಇದಃ ಆಪಿ ಹಲಿ ವಿಭಕ್ತೌ ಲೋಪಃ

ಅರ್ಥ: ಅಕಕಾರಾನ್ತ-ಇದಮ್-ಶಬ್ದಸ್ಯ 'ಇದ್' ಇತ್ಯಸ್ಯ ತೃತೀಯಾತಃ ಸಪ್ತಮೀ-ಯಾವತ್ಸು ಹಲಾದಿಪ್ರತ್ಯಯೇಷು ಪರೇಷು ಲೋಪಃ ಭವತಿ ।
Meaning: The 'इद्' part of the word 'इदम्' is removed when followed by a हलादि विभक्तिप्रत्यय of तृतीया to सप्तमी. But this conversion does not happen if the word इदम् has a ककार in it.
