ಸಪ್ತಮೀ (saptamī — locative)

ಅರ್ಥ: ಅಧಿಕರಣಕಾರಕ ಸೂಚಿಸುವ ಏಳನೆಯ ವಿಭಕ್ತಿ.
Meaning: The seventh case — the locative.

ಸಪ್ತಮೀ ವಿಭಕ್ತಿ ಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ಯಾವಾಗ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ — "ಅಲ್ಲಿ/ಆಗ" ಎಂಬ ಅರ್ಥ.

The locative marks the place or time of an action — "in/on/at."

ಉದಾಹರಣೆ: ಅಯನೇಷು (1.11) — ಸಪ್ತಮೀ ಬಹುವಚನ ನಪುಂಸಕಲಿಂಗ — "ಪ್ರವೇಶಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ" (ವ್ಯೂಹದ ಕಣಿವೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ).
Example: ಅಯನೇಷು (1.11) — Locative plural neuter — "at the strategic entry-points" of the battle array.
