ಸರ್ವನಾಮ (sarvanāma — pronoun)

ಅರ್ಥ: ನಾಮಪದದ ಬದಲಿಗೆ ಬಳಕೆಯಾಗುವ ಪದ.
Meaning: A word standing in for a noun.

ಗೀತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪದೇಪದೇ ಕಾಣುವ ಸರ್ವನಾಮಗಳು: ಅಸ್ಮದ್ (ನಾನು/ನಾವು), ಯುಷ್ಮದ್ (ನೀನು/ನೀವು), ತದ್ (ಅವನು/ಅದು), ಇದಮ್ (ಇದು), ಏತದ್ (ಇದು). ಸರ್ವನಾಮಗಳ ವಿಭಕ್ತಿರೂಪಗಳು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ನಾಮಪದಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿರುತ್ತವೆ.

The pronouns recurring throughout the Gita: asmad (I/we), yuṣmad (you), tad (he/that), idam (this), etad (this). Their case-forms diverge somewhat from ordinary nouns.

ಉದಾಹರಣೆ: ಅಸ್ಮಾಕಂ (1.7) — ಸರ್ವನಾಮ ಅಸ್ಮದ್ (asmad, "ನಾವು") ಷಷ್ಠೀ ಬಹುವಚನ — "ನಮ್ಮ".
