ತೃಚ್ (tṛc — agent-noun suffix, "-er/one who does")

ಅರ್ಥ: ಧಾತುವಿನಿಂದ ಕರ್ತೃವಾಚಕ ನಾಮಪದ ರೂಪಿಸುವ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಯ.
Meaning: The suffix that turns a root into an agent noun — "the one who does X."

ತೃಚ್ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಯ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷಿನ "-er" (writer, doer) ಗೆ ಹತ್ತಿರದ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತದೆ — ಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಮಾಡುವವನನ್ನೇ ಒಂದು ನಾಮಪದವಾಗಿ ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

Functions much like English "-er" (writer, doer) — turns the doer of an action into a noun in its own right.

ಉದಾಹರಣೆ: ಅದ್ವೇಷ್ಟಾ (12.13) — ಅ (ನಞ್) + ಧಾತು द्विष् (dviṣ, "ದ್ವೇಷಿಸು") ತೃಚ್ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಯ — "ದ್ವೇಷಿಸದವನು".
Example: ಅದ್ವೇಷ್ಟಾ (12.13) — a- (not) + dviṣ ("to hate"), tṛc suffix — "one who hates none."
