ತನಾದಿಗಣ (tanādi-gaṇa — eighth conjugation class)

ಅರ್ಥ: ಧಾತುಗಳ ಎಂಟನೆಯ ಗಣ — तन् ("ಹಬ್ಬಿಸು") ಧಾತುವಿನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತದೆ; कृ ("ಮಾಡು") ಈ ಗಣದ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಧಾತು.
Meaning: The eighth verb class, named after तन् ("to stretch"); कृ ("to do") — this class's most common root by far — is often used to introduce it.

ತನಾದಿಗಣದ ಧಾತುಗಳಿಗೆ "उ/ओ" ವಿಕರಣ ಸೇರುತ್ತದೆ (ಉದಾ: कृ → कर् + ओति → करोति). ಸ್ವಾದಿಗಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹತ್ತಿರವಾದ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಗಣ.

Tanādi-class roots take the "u/o" vikaraṇa (e.g. kṛ → kar + o-ti → karoti). A small class closely related to svādi.

ಉದಾಹರಣೆ: ಅಕುರ್ವತ (1.1) — ಧಾತು ಕೃ (kṛ, "ಮಾಡು") ಇಂದ ತನಾದಿಗಣದ ಲಙ್ ರೂಪ, ಗೀತೆಯ ಮೊದಲ ಶ್ಲೋಕದ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಪದ.
