ಸಂಕರೋ ನರಕಾಯೈವ ಕುಲಘ್ನಾನಾಂ ಕುಲಸ್ಯ ಚ ।

ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನ
ಕುಲನಾಶದ ಸರಪಳಿ ಮುಂದುವರಿಯುತ್ತದೆ: ವರ್ಣಸಂಕರ → ಕುಲ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಲನಾಶಕರ ನರಕಗಮನ → ಪಿಂಡ-ಜಲ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳ ಲೋಪ → ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಅಧಃಪತನ. ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಭಾರತೀಯ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಸಂತಾನವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಅಥವಾ ಕುಲ ನಾಶವಾದಾಗ ಪಿತೃಗಳಿಗೆ ಶ್ರಾದ್ಧ-ತರ್ಪಣಾದಿ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳು ನಿಲ್ಲುತ್ತವೆ, ಇದರಿಂದ ಅವರ ಆತ್ಮಗಳಿಗೆ ಶಾಂತಿ ಸಿಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

Commentary
The chain continues: caste intermixture → hell for the family and its destroyers → cessation of ancestral rites → the fall of ancestors. In ancient Indian belief, when a lineage is destroyed or left without descendants, the śrāddha and tarpaṇa rites for ancestors cease, denying their souls peace.
