ತತ್ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಂ ಯಚ್ಚ ಯಾದೃಕ್ಚ ಯದ್ವಿಕಾರಿ ಯತಶ್ಚ ಯತ್ ।

ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನ

ಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂದೆ ಬರುವ ವಿವರಣೆಯ ರೂಪುರೇಖೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತಾನೆ - ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ (ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಂ) ಸ್ವರೂಪ, ಅದರ ವಿಕಾರಗಳು (ವಿಕಾರಿ), ಅದರ ಮೂಲ (ಯತಃ), ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಜ್ಞನ (ಸಃ) ಪ್ರಭಾವ (ಪ್ರಭಾವಃ) - ಇವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತವಾಗಿ (ಸಮಾಸೇನ) ಕೇಳಲು (ಶೃಣು) ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಇದು ಮುಂದಿನ ಹಲವು ಶ್ಲೋಕಗಳ ವಿಷಯಸೂಚಿಯಂತಿದೆ.
