ಶ್ಲೋಕ ೩೧ - ಅಧ್ಯಾಯ ೧೩ - ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಜ್ಞವಿಭಾಗಯೋಗ

ಯದಾ ಭೂತಪೃಥಗ್ಭಾವಮೇಕಸ್ಥಮನುಪಶ್ಯತಿ ।
ತತ ಎವ ಚ ವಿಸ್ತಾರಂ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ ಸಂಪದ್ಯತೇ ತದಾ ॥ ೧೩-೩೧॥

ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನ

ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕವು ಪ್ರಕೃತಿ-ಪುರುಷ ವಿಚಾರದ ಅಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಫಲವನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ - ಪ್ರಪಂಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣುವ ಜೀವಿಗಳ ಅಸಂಖ್ಯ ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗಳು (ಭೂತಪೃಥಗ್ಭಾವಂ) ವಾಸ್ತವದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದೇ ಮೂಲ ತತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ (ಎಕಸ್ಥಂ) ನೆಲೆಸಿವೆ ಎಂದೂ, ಅವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಆ ಒಂದೇ ತತ್ವದ ವಿಸ್ತಾರ (ವಿಸ್ತಾರಂ) ಎಂದೂ ಕಾಣುವವನು (ಅನುಪಶ್ಯತಿ) ಬ್ರಹ್ಮವನ್ನೇ (ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ) ಹೊಂದುತ್ತಾನೆ (ಸಂಪದ್ಯತೇ) - ಏಕತ್ವ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯೇ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ಕಾರದ ಮಾರ್ಗ.

Commentary

This verse points to the spiritual fruit of understanding prakṛti and puruṣa: the countless different states of beings are recognized as resting in a single source, and all diversity as an expansion from that one reality. Seeing this unity is itself the attainment of Brahman.
