ಅತ್ರ ಶೂರಾ ಮಹೇಷ್ವಾಸಾ ಭೀಮಾರ್ಜುನಸಮಾ ಯುಧಿ ।
ಯುಯುಧಾನೋ ವಿರಾಟಶ್ಚ ದ್ರುಪದಶ್ಚ ಮಹಾರಥಃ ॥ ೧-೪॥

ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನ

ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದ ದುರ್ಯೋಧನನು ಪಾಂಡವ ಸೇನೆಯ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಯೋಧರ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ (ಶ್ಲೋಕ ೪-೬). ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಮಹಾರಥರೆಂದು (ಒಂಟಿಯಾಗಿ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಯೋಧರೊಡನೆ ಹೋರಾಡಬಲ್ಲ ರಥಿಗಳು) ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧರು.

Commentary
