ಶ್ಲೋಕ ೧ - ವಿಷ್ಣು ಸಹಸ್ರನಾಮ

ಓಂ ವಿಶ್ವಂ ವಿಷ್ಣುರ್ವಷಟ್ಕಾರೋ ಭೂತಭವ್ಯಭವತ್ಪ್ರಭುಃ ।
ಭೂತಕೃದ್ಭೂತಭೃದ್ಭಾವೋ ಭೂತಾತ್ಮಾ ಭೂತಭಾವನಃ ॥ ೧ ॥

ಪದ ಅರ್ಥ

ಪದ	Meaning
ವಿಶ್ವಂ	The universe itself (he who becomes and pervades all this)
ವಿಷ್ಣುಃ	The all-pervading one
ವಷಟ್ಕಾರಃ	He who is invoked by the sacred utterance "vaṣaṭ" in yajñas
ಭೂತಭವ್ಯಭವತ್ಪ್ರಭುಃ	The Lord of the past, the future, and the present
ಭೂತಕೃತ್	The creator of all beings
ಭೂತಭೃತ್	The sustainer of all beings
ಭಾವಃ	Pure existence itself
ಭೂತಾತ್ಮಾ	The Self dwelling within all beings
ಭೂತಭಾವನಃ	He who nurtures and brings about the growth of all beings

(ॐ विश्वं विष्णुर्वषट्कारो भूतभव्यभवत्प्रभुः ।
भूतकृद्भूतभृद्भावो भूतात्मा भूतभावनः ॥ १ ॥)
