ಶ್ಲೋಕ ೧೦ - ವಿಷ್ಣು ಸಹಸ್ರನಾಮ

ಸುರೇಶಃ ಶರಣಂ ಶರ್ಮ ವಿಶ್ವರೇತಾಃ ಪ್ರಜಾಭವಃ ।
ಅಹಃ ಸಂವತ್ಸರೋ ವ್ಯಾಲಃ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಯಃ ಸರ್ವದರ್ಶನಃ ॥ ೧೦ ॥

ಪದ ಅರ್ಥ

ಪದ	Meaning
ಸುರೇಶಃ	The Lord of the gods
ಶರಣಂ	The refuge
ಶರ್ಮ	Supreme bliss/happiness itself
ವಿಶ್ವರೇತಾಃ	He whose seed is the universe
ಪ್ರಜಾಭವಃ	The source from whom all creatures arise
ಅಹಃ	The day (time personified)
ಸಂವತ್ಸರಃ	The year (time personified)
ವ್ಯಾಲಃ	The elusive one, hard to grasp or tame
ಪ್ರತ್ಯಯಃ	The basis of true knowledge/understanding
ಸರ್ವದರ್ಶನಃ	The all-seeing one

(सुरेशः शरणं शर्म विश्वरेताः प्रजाभवः ।
अहः संवत्सरो व्यालः प्रत्ययः सर्वदर्शनः ॥ १० ॥)

sureśaḥ śaraṇaṃ śarma viśvaretāḥ prajābhavaḥ |
ahaḥ saṃvatsaro vyālaḥ pratyayaḥ sarvadarśanaḥ || 10 ||
