ಶ್ಲೋಕ ೯ - ವಿಷ್ಣು ಸಹಸ್ರನಾಮ

ಈಶ್ವರೋ ವಿಕ್ರಮೀ ಧನ್ವೀ ಮೇಧಾವೀ ವಿಕ್ರಮಃ ಕ್ರಮಃ ।
ಅನುತ್ತಮೋ ದುರಾಧರ್ಷಃ ಕೃತಜ್ಞಃ ಕೃತಿರ್ಆತ್ಮವಾನ್ ॥ ೯ ॥

ಪದ ಅರ್ಥ

ಪದ	Meaning
ಈಶ್ವರಃ	The Supreme Controller
ವಿಕ್ರಮೀ	The valorous one, full of prowess
ಧನ್ವೀ	The bow-wielder (Viṣṇu's bow Śārṅga)
ಮೇಧಾವೀ	The wise, intelligent one
ವಿಕ್ರಮಃ	Valor, prowess itself
ಕ್ರಮಃ	The cosmic order; he who strides
ಅನುತ್ತಮಃ	One than whom none is greater, unsurpassed
ದುರಾಧರ್ಷಃ	The unassailable, one who cannot be overpowered
ಕೃತಜ್ಞಃ	He who acknowledges what is done for him, the grateful one
ಕೃತಿಃ	Action itself, or its result
ಆತ್ಮವಾನ್	One established in the Self, self-possessed

(ईश्वरो विक्रमी धन्वी मेधावी विक्रमः क्रमः ।
अनुत्तमो दुराधर्षः कृतज्ञः कृतिरात्मवान् ॥ ९ ॥)

īśvaro vikramī dhanvī medhāvī vikramaḥ kramaḥ |
anuttamo durādharṣaḥ kṛtajñaḥ kṛtirātmavān || 9 ||
