ಶ್ಲೋಕ ೧೮ - ವಿಷ್ಣು ಸಹಸ್ರನಾಮ

ವೇದ್ಯೋ ವೈದ್ಯಃ ಸದಾಯೋಗೀ ವೀರಹಾ ಮಾಧವೋ ಮಧುಃ ।
ಅತೀಂದ್ರಿಯೋ ಮಹಾಮಾಯೋ ಮಹೋತ್ಸಾಹೋ ಮಹಾಬಲಃ ॥ ೧೮ ॥

ಪದ ಅರ್ಥ

ಪದ	Meaning
ವೇದ್ಯಃ	The one to be known, the object of true knowledge
ವೈದ್ಯಃ	The physician, one who knows the remedy for worldly suffering
ಸದಾಯೋಗೀ	One who is ever in a state of yoga/union
ವೀರಹಾ	The slayer of heroes/demons
ಮಾಧವಃ	The husband of Lakṣmī
ಮಧುಃ	The sweet one
ಅತೀಂದ್ರಿಯಃ	One beyond the reach of the senses
ಮಹಾಮಾಯಃ	The great wielder of māyā (illusion)
ಮಹೋತ್ಸಾಹಃ	One of great energy/enthusiasm
ಮಹಾಬಲಃ	One of great strength

(वेद्यो वैद्यः सदायोगी वीरहा माधवो मधुः ।
अतीन्द्रियो महामायो महोत्साहो महाबलः ॥ १८ ॥)

vedyo vaidyaḥ sadāyogī vīrahā mādhavo madhuḥ |
atīndriyo mahāmāyo mahotsāho mahābalaḥ || 18 ||
