ಶ್ಲೋಕ ೪೦ - ವಿಷ್ಣು ಸಹಸ್ರನಾಮ

ವಿಕ್ಷರೋ ರೋಹಿತೋ ಮಾರ್ಗೋ ಹೇತುರ್ದಾಮೋದರಃ ಸಹಃ ।
ಮಹೀಧರೋ ಮಹಾಭಾಗೋ ವೇಗವಾನಮಿತಾಶನಃ ॥ ೪೦ ॥

ಪದ ಅರ್ಥ

ಪದ	Meaning
ವಿಕ್ಷರಃ	The imperishable one
ರೋಹಿತಃ	The red one — as in the Matsya avatāra
ಮಾರ್ಗಃ	The path itself
ಹೇತುಃ	The cause of all
ದಾಮೋದರಃ	One bound around the belly — Kṛṣṇa's childhood epithet
ಸಹಃ	The all-enduring, powerful one
ಮಹೀಧರಃ	The bearer of the earth
ಮಹಾಭಾಗಃ	The greatly fortunate one
ವೇಗವಾನ್	The swift one
ಅಮಿತಾಶನಃ	One of boundless consumption, at dissolution

(विक्षरो रोहितो मार्गो हेतुर्दामोदरः सहः ।
महीधरो महाभागो वेगवानमिताशनः ॥ ४० ॥)

vikṣaro rohito mārgo heturdāmodaraḥ sahaḥ |
mahīdharo mahābhāgo vegavānamitāśanaḥ || 40 ||
