ಶ್ಲೋಕ ೫ - ವಿಷ್ಣು ಸಹಸ್ರನಾಮ

ಸ್ವಯಂಭೂಃ ಶಂಭುರ್ಆದಿತ್ಯಃ ಪುಷ್ಕರಾಕ್ಷೋ ಮಹಾಸ್ವನಃ ।
ಅನಾದಿನಿಧನೋ ಧಾತಾ ವಿಧಾತಾ ಧಾತುರ್ಉತ್ತಮಃ ॥ ೫ ॥

ಪದ ಅರ್ಥ

ಪದ	Meaning
ಸ್ವಯಂಭೂಃ	The self-existent one, self-born
ಶಂಭುಃ	The source of well-being/auspiciousness
ಆದಿತ್ಯಃ	Son of Aditi, the Sun
ಪುಷ್ಕರಾಕ್ಷಃ	The lotus-eyed one
ಮಹಾಸ್ವನಃ	He of great/thundering sound
ಅನಾದಿನಿಧನಃ	One without beginning or end
ಧಾತಾ	The creator/ordainer
ವಿಧಾತಾ	The dispenser of the fruits of action
ಧಾತುಃ	The sustainer
ಉತ್ತಮಃ	The most excellent, the best

(स्वयम्भूः शम्भुरादित्यः पुष्कराक्षो महास्वनः ।
अनादिनिधनो धाता विधाता धातुरुत्तमः ॥ ५ ॥)

svayambhūḥ śambhurādityaḥ puṣkarākṣo mahāsvanaḥ |
anādinidhano dhātā vidhātā dhāturuttamaḥ || 5 ||
